Director Amy Poehler | 6.7/10 | |

Moxie was supposed to be a great movie like Booksmart, but it just didn’t get the attention it deserved. It’s based on Jennifer Mathieu’s novel, and it’s a real-life-affirming story. Vivian (played by Hadley Robinson) is shocked by the amount of misogyny in her school, and when a new girl, Lucy, starts to question the school’s practices, Vivian decides to take action.
She’s inspired by her mom’s history of being an activist and musician, and her anonymous efforts start a movement among the other girls in her school. It’s not the easiest movie to watch, but it’s got some really heartwarming moments. Plus, the cast is diverse, the school dynamics are realistic, and there are some great needle drops. All in all, Moxie is an amazing movie!
