Millie Gibson is now confirmed to leave Doctor Who after one season.

Varada Sethu, known for her role in Jurassic World Dominion, will join Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor’s new companion.

Millie Gibson, renowned for her portrayal of Kelly Neelan in the British soap Coronation Street, entered the world of the long-standing sci-fi series during the Christmas special in December. She assumed the role of companion Ruby Sunday, appearing alongside Gatwa, who takes on the character of the Fifteenth Doctor.

The actress is set to reprise her role as Ruby in the upcoming 14th season, scheduled for release in May on the BBC and Disney+.

The show’s original reboot creator, Russell T. Davies, has returned to spearhead the upcoming seasons as the showrunner, taking on the roles of writer and executive producer. The new seasons are co-produced by Bad Wolf.

Notable guest stars for Season 14 include Yasmin Finney from Heartstopper, singer Bonnie Langford, Jonathan Groff and Indira Varma among others. The iconic Doctor Who series commemorated its 60th anniversary in November last year.
