Peter Jackson adds his voice to raise the Australian horror film Talk To Me, placing him alongside esteemed figures such as Steven Spielberg, Stephen King, Jordan Peele, Ari Aster, and George Miller.
He described the picture as “relentlessly scary and disturbing – in the best possible way” in a statement to Ahi, one of the film’s distributors in New Zealand and Australia.
Jackson said, “Talk To Me isn’t just good – it’s very very good. The best, most intense, horror movie I’ve enjoyed in years.”
Danny and Michael Philippou’s movie has become a cult smash following its debut at the Sundance Film Festival, where A24 purchased it, with a global box office gross reaching US$30 million two weeks after release.
On August 8, 2023, just a few days after the release of Talk to Me, A24 announced plans for a sequel. However, there is no hint on when the sequel will be out due to the writer and actor strikes that have slowed production in Hollywood.
