Emily Blunt reveals ongoing talks for a third A Quiet Place film, but wants John Krasinski and Cillian Murphy involved.

Following the success of A Quiet Place Part II in February 2022, Paramount announced that a third installment will be released in 2025. Blunt has recently stated that conversations regarding the narrative are still underway, but she has a condition for returning to the franchise.

Krasinski stated after the second movie that he was done directing for the franchise, expecting that someone else would take over that duty while he worked on the plot, but Blunt appears to be having none of it, as she explained to Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast.

“Well Cillian and I were having a chat with John about it last night. We were sitting on a rooftop all together, drinking wine and [saying], ‘You know what would be great? Is if we keep this thing going’ [laughs].”

Blunt then added, more seriously: “I think it would have to be that we would all do it together. I don’t want it to be with a different director if we did it again.”

Previously Blunt told Collider that Krasinski had “a whole arc of ideas” for the third part. “He has a whole arc of ideas that could work. I think he just wanted to see how people responded to this one before he fully engaged his brain on the third one. But he has a couple of great ideas.”

A Quiet Place: Day One, a spin-off centered on the first day of the invasion, has already begun filming, although it is now on hiatus owing to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes. The film, starring Lupita Nyong’o, Joseph Quinn, and Alex Wolff, is set to be released on March 8, 2024.
