Hulu has released a trailer for the upcoming third season of the popular comedy. Only Murders in the Building trailer will feature Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as three characters who are once again thrust into a situation they did not want to be involved in. With no one else to solve the crimes, the residents must be prepared to take on the challenge.

The unconventional trio will have to think twice before disregarding the law, as they are faced with the wrath of an amateur detective who has become an effective investigator. Time is running out, and a killer is still at large. The third season of the show will take the cast and crew further into the investigation of Ben’s murder, with Paul Rudd’s (Rudd) death being the major cliffhanger from the second season. Even though Rudd is dead, he will only be featured in a few of the new episodes, which are meant to explain the events surrounding Ben’s death.

We witness Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez character’s once again embarking on a thrilling true-crime investigation. This time, the crime unfolds behind the curtains of Oliver’s Broadway show. Shockingly, the victim is none other than the show’s lead star, Ben Glenroy, portrayed by the talented Paul Rudd. The anticipation builds as the trio delves into the enigmatic world of the theater to unravel the secrets surrounding this puzzling crime.

Joined by their detective prowess, the dynamic trio teams up to unravel crucial clues and interrogate potential suspects, starting with none other than Meryl Streep’s Loretta Durkin. The teaser also features Grey’s Anatomy‘s Jesse Williams as documentarian Tobert and Emily in Paris’ Ashley Park as TikTok-addicted superstar Kimber.

Creator John Hoffman told Entertainment Weekly about what we could expect from the upcoming season. “Season one was really centered around a Mabel story, and then Charles and his father emotionally led season two in many ways, so it feels right to lean into Oliver a bit more and his dream of a potential comeback.”
