‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Trailer Shows Bloody Birth of America

Killers of the Flower Moon Trailer

Hold onto your seats because the first teaser for the highly anticipated collaboration between the legendary Martin Scorsese and the incredible Leonardo DiCaprio has just dropped. It’s absolutely breathtaking and captivating, leaving us all wanting more.

After its dazzling debut at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Scorsese’s much-awaited project, Killers of the Flower Moon, has been showered with rave reviews. Scorsese, known for his brilliant collaborations, brings together the dynamic duo of DiCaprio and mob movie icon Robert De Niro once again – a pair he’s famously praised as his favorite actors. The film adapts the gripping true story from David Grann‘s best-selling non-fiction novel of the same name.

Transporting us to 1920’s Oklahoma, Killers of the Flower Moon delves into the harrowing tale of the Osage Nation, facing extortion and horrifying murders during a period that became infamously known as the “Reign of Terror.”

With a new trailer for the film having now been released, audiences get a glimpse into the acclaimed director’s highly-anticipated new project.

Adding to the star-studded cast of Killers of the Flower Moon are the talented Lily Gladstone and Jesse Plemons. Gladstone takes on the role of Mollie Kyle, while the film explores the captivating and unexpected love story between her character and DiCaprio’s Ernest Burkhart. Through this central romance, the movie serves as a powerful vehicle to narrate the true events surrounding the Osage people.

As the Osage Nation strikes oil and experiences an unimaginable surge of wealth, becoming overnight sensations as some of the wealthiest individuals on the planet, a darker side emerges. The influx of riches attracts individuals willing to manipulate, extort, and steal from the Osage community, plunging them into a tumultuous and treacherous situation.

DiCaprio’s To-Die-For New Accent

The trailer for Killers of the Flower Moon is a visual masterpiece, immersing us in a world of muted browns and vibrant greens. It’s everything we crave in a new Scorsese film: intense fight scenes, fiery chaos as houses burn, and an overall aura that leaves us eagerly anticipating the movie’s release. (Let’s not forget that Scorsese’s last film, The Irishman in 2019, earned a remarkable 10 Oscar nominations.)

However, my personal favorite aspect of the trailer is Leonardo DiCaprio’s captivating drawl. As he narrates a story about the Osage people off-screen, his voice resonates with a distinctive accent. To my ears, shaped by coastal influences, his accent may not be what I’m accustomed to. He emphasizes certain syllables in unexpected ways, adding a unique charm to his portrayal. I found myself particularly drawn to his delivery of the lines: “The Oh-sage took their name from Missourah and Oh-sage Rivers. ‘Move,’ said the great. [Pause.] White. [Pause.] Father.” And, as the trailer reaches its climax, these lines resurface as a haunting refrain: “Can you find? The Wolves? In this pic-shure?”

Killers of the Flower Moon trailer not only excites us with its stunning visuals but also gives us a taste of DiCaprio’s mesmerizing performance and the intriguing narrative that awaits us.

The movie will have its theatrical premiere on October 20. Later on, it will be available for streaming on Apple TV+.
