Lady Bird and Little Women star Saoirse Ronan has recently revealed her upcoming aspiration: diving into comedy movies.
It might come as a pleasant surprise to many, given her reputation for delivering poignant performances. Interestingly, comedy happens to be her favorite genre to enjoy as a viewer. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar she explains that she wants to do something “modern and funny.”
“To be able to do comedy well requires so much skill and musicality. I don’t necessarily think I have that yet –although as I’ve got older, I am more comfortable and confident to try.” She cites Bridesmaids, Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm as her all-time favorites.
Saoirse Ronan will be appearing in sci-fi movie Foe, along with Paul Mescal. The thrilling movie is set in a near-future world on the brink of ecological collapse, Aaron Pierre steps into the spotlight as an enigmatic stranger. He arrives unannounced at the doorstep of a struggling couple, bearing an audacious and unsettling proposal that sets the stage for a gripping narrative.
Foe will hit theaters on October 6.
