Ryan Reynolds, renowned for his improvisational skills as Marvel’s most foul-mouthed superhero, is tackling Deadpool leaks with a strategy straight from Deadpool himself.
Earlier this week, Reynolds shared a detailed post targeting people who’ve sneakily captured photos from the currently active set of Deadpool 3, as well as the websites that disseminate and distribute such images. A recent unauthorized reveal hints at the appearance of a redacted MCU villain, set to challenge Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the upcoming film.
Here’s what the statement said, “Surprises are part of the magic of theatrical movies. It’s important for us to shoot the new Deadpool film in real, natural environments, using practical effects as opposed to making the movie indoors and digitally. Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone. Here’s hoping some of the websites and social channels hold back showing images before they’re ready. The film is built for audience joy — and our highest hope is to preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the ‘good problems’ bucket. I love making this movie.”
This morning, Reynolds delivered another blow in this war. “Deadpool started with a leak. So, I’m jumping in,” he tweeted on Twitter/X, alluding to the leaked test footage of Reynolds donning the red suit that ultimately led to the greenlighting of the original movie.
