Studio Ghibli just released The Boy and The Heron English dub trailer and it has generated so much excitement.

GKIDS has obtained the licensing rights for the film and is set to release it in North American theaters on December 8, with special preview showings scheduled for November 22. Audiences will have the option to choose between watching the English-dubbed version or the original Japanese audio with English subtitles during the screenings.

The Boy and the Heron made its debut in Japan on July 14, achieving remarkable success at the box office. In its initial three days, the film sold 1.003 million tickets and earned approximately US$13.2 million. During the extended weekend from Friday to Monday, which coincided with the Marine Day holiday on July 17, the film sold 1.353 million tickets and garnered 2.149 billion yen (around US$15.53 million).

The movie has now accumulated an impressive total of 8,333,397,800 yen (approximately US$55.60 million), placing it as the 74th highest-grossing film in Japan’s history.
