In 2024, the Golden Globes is different. Instead of a non-profit group, a private investor team is now in charge. They added a new award category called Best Box Office Achievement. This award goes to the movie that did the best business at the box office. Taylor Swift’s concert movie, The Eras Tour, which set a record as the most successful concert film last year, has also received a nomination in the category.
Other movies nominated were Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Swift has been nominated for four Golden Globes before, all in the Best Original Song category, but has never won. Her first nomination was in 2013 for “Safe & Sound” from The Hunger Games. She was later recognized for “Sweeter Than Fiction” from One Chance in 2014, “Beautiful Ghosts” from Cats in 2020, and most recently, “Carolina” from When the Crawdads Sing in 2023.
Will Taylor Swift Attend Golden Globes?
As per Page Six, it is anticipated that Swift will be present at the Globes ceremony. However, neither Swift nor the Globes have confirmed her attendance, aligning with her usual practice of not announcing award show appearances in advance.
It’s likely that Travis Kelce won’t accompany her, considering the Kansas City Chiefs has a game against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, January 7, the same day as the award show.
