Behold the return of everyone’s favorite villain, Marvel‘s Loki! He’s back in Season 2 of his new Disney+ series and it’s coming to the streaming service on October 6th. But before that happens, let’s take a look back at the first season and figure out what’s going on with all the time travelling chaos. The first season picks up right after the events of Avengers: Endgame, where Tony, Steve, and Scott travel back to 2012 to get the Tesseract they stole from their 2012 selves during The Avengers.

Episode 1: A Glorious Purpose

It all starts back in Avengers: Endgame when Loki steals the Tesseract and accidentally causes a new timeline to start up. But his adventures don’t last long, as he gets captured by the TVA and brought to their headquarters. He’s introduced to them and their mission – to protect the Sacred Timeline by stopping the Nexus events that could cause chaos across all the universes. Loki is a bit hesitant at first, but eventually agrees to help them capture another Loki variant that could take down their agents. He’s paired up with Agent Mobius, and they go on an amazing journey through time, stopping at Oshkosh in 1975 and Pompeii in 1572.

Episode 2: The Variant

Loki and Mobius, are still on the trail of the villainous Loki variant, this time going by the name of Sylvie. They’re chasing her all the way to 1859, where she’s planning to kill a major character with a huge impact on the Sacred timeline. But even though they can stop her in her tracks, she still manages to get away with help from TVA agent hunter B-15 and Mobius ends up in jail for helping her.

Episode 3: Lamentis-1

Loki and Sylvia are suddenly taken to the dangerous moon in 2077, just before it’s gonna be a disaster. Now their lives are linked together, and they have to work together to get out of this mess. In the middle of all this chaos, Loki and Sylvia start to form a strong bond, and Loki finds out about Sylvia’s past, which is the origin of this interesting Loki variation.

Episode 4: The Nexus Event

Loki and Sylvie eventually make their way back to TVA HQ, where Mobius makes a shocking announcement. He explains that it was Sylvie who caused the Nexus event that caused Loki to get captured by the TVA, and when he and Sylvie stand up to Renslayer, he tells them that the three mysterious creatures who made the TVA are the ones who created the Sacred Timeline. They refuse to believe this, so Loki and Sylvie make a daring escape from TVA HQ.

Episode 5: Journey Into Mystery

Loki and Sylvie end up in a strange place called the Void, where people from different timelines come together to meet their end. They meet a bunch of different versions of Loki, from Kid to Boastful Loki to Alligator Loki. But while they’re there, they find out the truth about the Time-keepers – they’re just puppets, and they’re run by a mysterious figure called the TVA. The TVA was created to stop a huge war between different universes.

Episode 6: For All Time. Always.

In the final episode of the series, Loki and Sylvia find themselves face-to-face in the Citadel where they confront He Who Remains. He gives them a huge choice: either keep the Sacred Timeline safe for everyone to live in peace, or let him end his life and open up a whole new world of possibilities. In the end, Sylvie makes the heartbreaking decision to put an end to his life, which causes a chain reaction and splits the Sacred Timeline in two. Then, chaos breaks out at TVA HQ, and when Loki comes back, he’s confused because he can’t recognize Mobius or B-15. The Time Keepers’ statues are now He Who Remains’, and a new version of Sylvie is in charge of TVA.
