Bob’s Burgers reveals new voice for Jimmy Pesto following the unsavory departure of Jay Johnston.
The 14th season of Bob’s Burgers introduced Eric Bauza as the new voice of Jimmy Pesto. The show’s latest season premiered on Fox earlier this year, and in the fifth episode titled “Bully-ieve It Or Not,” Bauza took over the role of Pesto. This change in casting was necessitated by the arrest and charges filed against the previous voice actor, Jay Johnston. Johnston’s involvement in the January 6th Capitol riot of 2021 led to his arrest and subsequent separation from Fox shortly after these events unfolded.
Before joining the cast of Bob’s Burgers, Bauza had an extensive and diverse background in the world of animation. He lent his voice to iconic Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Marvin the Martian across multiple versions of the series. Additionally, his voice talents can be recognized in popular shows like Rick and Morty, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Star Trek: Lower Decks.
Furthermore, he has also contributed his voice to the well-received Netflix anime series, Blue Eye Samurai. It’s evident that Bauza has maintained a busy and successful career in the animation industry.
Bob’s Burgers Season 14 is currently being broadcast on FOX as part of their ongoing Animation Domination lineup, airing on Sunday evenings at 9:00 PM EST. In case you miss the original broadcast, you can watch the episodes on Hulu, as they are available for streaming after they air.
