Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan (John Corbett) have finally reunited after 13 years and now share their time between New York City and Aidan’s home in Norfolk, Virginia, in the latest episodes of Max‘s And Just Like That.
Carrie, on the other hand, has yet to be seen at the Virginia property. The show’s producers advise fans not to necessarily anticipate her appearance.
“We wanted to jump ahead a little,” writer/executive producer Julie Rottenberg reveals on the show’s official podcast And Just Like That… The Writers Room, with EP/showrunner Michael Patrick King adding, “We didn’t necessarily want to do ‘Carrie goes to Virginia.'”
While the writers agree that they “did consider” putting the journey on screen, King says: “The reality is, we didn’t want to do it artistically. Production-wise, it was hard. It was winter. It was not supposed to be winter in this episode.”
In the latest episode, they showed that Carrie is moving to a nicer and bigger place, so that Aidan and his kids can visit in the future. This makes it easy for the show to stay in NYC without needing a big reason to go somewhere else.
And Just Like That season 2 streams Thursdays on Max.
