Brian Tyree Henry describes Transformers One as a tragedy about the loss of friendship and the heartbreak that follows.

At the SDCC, Henry mentions that him and Chris Hemsworth spent time together before filming to build an authenticity between their friendship.

At the panel, the producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura says that fans will get to know the Transformers better in the new movie. He adds that its because it’s an animated film whereas in live-action, it’s too expensive to make them talk all of the time.

Transformers One takes place 3 billion years before the live-action movies and is “the untold origin story of Optimus Prime (Hemsworth) and Megatron (Henry), better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever.”

The voice cast also includes Scarlett Johansson, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm.

The movie hits theaters on September 20.
