After the end of the second season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, an adaptation of the “Culling Game Arc” from the manga has been officially announced.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 aired from July to December 2023, featuring the “Shibuya Incident Arc” that commenced a few weeks after the initial “Hidden Inventory Arc.” The first season, comprising 24 episodes, aired from late 2020 to early 2021. Additionally, the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime movie prequel was released in Japan in December 2021.
The preview includes voices from the anime layered over panels from the manga, providing a glimpse into what lies ahead. “The production of Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Games arc has been decided, and will dynamically depict the death matches between those granted Jujutsu powers — instigated by the enigmatic worst jujutsu sorcerer of all time, Noritoshi Kamo! Please look forward to the start of a new story.”
The format for the adaptation of the “Culling Games” arc in Jujutsu Kaisen remains uncertain, with no confirmation whether it will be produced as a TV series or a movie. MAPPA, the studio behind the anime, has displayed a willingness to explore movie adaptations, as evidenced by their work on Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc. This aligns with a trend seen in other anime productions, such as Rascal Does Not Dream and the upcoming Haikyu!! movies, which serve as the conclusive finale for their respective series.
Crunchyroll streams all seasons of Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
