A number of Jujutsu Kaisen animators have spoken out against animation studio MAPPA for the “hell” like working conditions, as staff was required to sign NDAs.
MAPPA, a studio founded in 2011, has swiftly risen to prominence in the anime world. They’ve left fans awestruck with their animation in hit series like Attack on Titan, Chainsaw Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen. However, their rapid ascent to the summit of the anime industry hasn’t been without its drawbacks. In 2021, animators vocally criticized MAPPA for subjecting them to grueling “factory-like” working conditions while producing Attack on Titan.
Now, it appears that MAPPA’s staff is once again facing unfavorable conditions, this time surrounding their work on Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. Reports suggest that employees were compelled to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to keep quiet about the subpar working conditions they endured.
In a tweet that has since gone viral, one person took to Twitter/X to discuss the scenario.

>Start a production of no return (knowing what was coming)
>They remove half of the producers and Staff to send them to another project (CSM) at the most key moment of production (Shibuya)
>They abandon production
>They silence the staff because of the hell they go through https://t.co/C8H7C7FCuN
Despite the non-disclosure agreements, staff members have continued to openly post their accusations on the platform, as more people have come forward to share their own experiences.
