HBO releases the first teaser trailer for Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon Season 2, which shows Westeros is at war.
In the second season, viewers can expect intensified dragon conflicts as the forces led by Rhaenyra Targaryen clash with those of Alicent Hightower. The trailer provides a glimpse of Daemon Targaryen gearing up in his formidable armor, knights on horseback, soldiers facing fiery fates, and key characters riding their dragons into the heat of battle.
“There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin — and no war so bloody as a war between dragons,” warns Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) in the first-look.
The preview takes us into the somber aftermath of the season 1 finale, where the tragic demise of Lucerys Velaryon (Elliot Grihault), the young child of Rhaenyra Targaryen, unfolds. This heart-wrenching event occurs during a high-stakes dragonback skirmish in the skies with Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell).
The core cast of House of the Dragon is back for the upcoming season, joined by a lineup of fresh faces. Among the notable additions are Tom Taylor portraying Lord Cregan Stark, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna taking on the role of Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett playing Ulf, and Vincent Regan embodying Ser Rickard Thorne.
HBO CEO Casey Bloys has officially confirmed that the second season of the fantasy drama series is set to premiere in the “early summer” of 2024.
